The Governing Council of the Indian Premier League today issued a thirty – day termination notice to the Kochi franchise to resolve issues. After the IPL Governing Council meeting today in Nagpur, the BCCI Chairman Shashank Manohar told reporters that BCCI has ordered Kochi IPL to sort out their differences and remedy the breach of contract with in 30 days. In case, issues are not resolved with in 30 days, the contract with the franchise would stand cancelled. With this, the franchise has got a breather to resolve their internal conflict and defend their stake in the IPL version-four. Earlier, the franchise was given 10 days time till October 21 to reply to the BCCI's show cause notice. But, the two factions of the franchise filed separate replies, giving an indication that the consortium has not resolved its differences. Kochi won the IPL franchise in March this year, beating bids from Pune and Ahmedabad, which had bigger consortiums who were allegedly backed by powerful politicians and members of the IPL. The other two teams – Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals – were ousted earlier this month due to several violations of their contract with the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
