BCCI President Jagmohon Dalmiya died in Kolkata last night. He was 75. Dalmiya was admitted into a city hospital on Thursday night following chest pain. He was also the President of Cricket Association of Bengal. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has condoled his death. As the news of Dalmiya's death spread, Miss Banerjee, several Cricket stars and sports lovers rushed to the hospital to pay their last respect to the departed soul. President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other leaders have also expressed condolence over the death of the BCCI president. In his condolence message, NCP chief Sharad Pawar said that Dalmiya will always be remembered as the first person from a third world country to hold the office of the International Cricket Council, ICC, which is the highest governing body of world cricket. He said, Dalmiya made BCCI a powerful and influential cricket body in the field of sports. The body of Jagmohan Dalmia will be consigned to flames at Keoratala crematorium in South Kolkata this afternoon. Before this, the body will be kept at the premises of Cricket Association of Bengal for the public to pay their last respect.
