The Board of Control for Cricket in India, BCCI, has imposed life ban on S Sreesanth and Ankeet Chavan for being involved in the IPL Twenty-20 spot-fixing scam. The decision was taken by the BCCI after its disciplinary committee meeting in New Delhi which discussed anti-corruption chief Ravi Sawani's report on the scam and heard each of the Players in person. In a statement, the BCCI said that Amit Singh, a former Rajasthan Royals player, was handed a five-year ban while another Rajasthan Royal cricketer Siddharth Trivedi got away with one-year suspension. The case against Harmeet Singh has been closed in the absence of evidence against him. The BCCI made no mention of Ajit Chandila, who allegedly lured the cricketers into the spot-fixing net, but an official said a decision about him would be taken at a later stage.
