The BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur today felicitated Kumar Sangakkara before the start of today's play of the second Test between Sri Lanka and India, which marks the farewell match for the legendary cricketer. Speaking on the occasion in Colombo, he said, Sangakkara's conduct both on and off the field has been exemplary. Mr Thakur said, Sangakkara is one of the most consistent performers of our times and a role model for youngsters around the world. BCCI President Jagmohan Dalmiya also congratulated the Sri Lankan wicketkeeper-batsman on his glorious career. In his 15-year international career, Sangakkara has so far scored 12,350 Test runs with 38 centuries at an average of 57.71. In 404 ODIs, he has scored 14,234 runs with 25 tons and a staggering 93 half-centuries.
