The BCCI emergency working committee meeting is scheduled to take place in Chennai this afternoon. The meeting is held in the backdrop of growing demands for the resignation of the Board President N.Srinivasan in the wake of spot fixing and betting racket in the just concluded 6th edition of the IPL.

The Emergency meeting will be chaired by Mr. N. Srinivasan and will be attended by the 30 members of the committee. Mr. N.Srinivasan has been defiant and has refused to quit the President's post on the ground that he has not done anything wrong.

He has alleged that the media has been indulging in BCCI and IPL bashing and targetting him. IPL Commissioner Rajiv Shukla, BCCI Secretary, Mr. Sanjay Jagdale and Treasurer Mr. Ajay Shirkey have resigned following the controversy surrounding the IPL. Our correspondent reports that Mr. Srinivasan's fate as BCCI President is likely to be decided in today's meeting.

The informal meeting and the premilarly discussion prior to BCCI committee meeting begins in Chennai.

Joint Secretary of the board Aunrag Thakur, Former BCCI President Jagmohan, Dalmiya, Neeranjan Shah, and many other officials of the board are present here. The other important official are schedule to join by a video conference to discuss the matter.

The polarization within the BCCI with regard to Srinivasan issue also remain the cause for prolonging the stepping aside or the step down decision of the President of the board.
