BCCI Chief N Srinivasan’s son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan has been sent to police custody till 29th May in IPL betting case and spot fixing case. However, the Crime branch officials, who presented Meiyappan before Mumbai Court today afternoon, were demanding seven days custody of the Chennai Super King’s owner. Meiyappan was arrested yesterday evening after he surrendered before Mumbai Crime branch. Meiyappan had been summoned by Mumbai Police for questioning after his name cropped up in the betting scandal following arrest of actor Vindoo Dara Singh on May 21. Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Himanshu Roy Police interrogated Meiyappan yesterday after his arrest.
