BCCI announces resumption of bilateral cricket ties with the West Indies

BCCI today announced the resumption of bilateral cricket ties with the West Indies starting with a four-Test series in July-August. A BCCI statement said, all outstanding issues arising out of the abandonment of the tour of the West Indies team to India in 2014 have been resolved. BCCI Secretary Anurag Thakur said the upcoming tour will add to the renewed bonhomie in the ties.Dave Cameron, President of the West Indies Cricket Board said the West Indies cricket appreciates the support of BCCI.Earlier, BCCI president Shashank Manohar had announced that board has decided to waive off the financial penalty of nearly 42 million US Dollar that was imposed on the WICB for pulling out midway during their 2014 series against India.In October 2014, when West Indies captain Dwayne Bravo led the players' revolt over payment issues, the team had returned home after the fourth ODI against India in Dharamsala.
