Indo-Pak cricketing ties are set for revival after the BCCI today agreed to a three match ODI series between the two nations. The two arch-rivals have not played each other in a bilateral series for close to five years. The ties had been snapped after the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. The decision to resume cricketing ties with Pakistan was taken by the BCCI Working Committee which met in New Delhi today. The BCCI said in a statement that the short series will be held in India between December 2012 and January 2013 and the modalities will be worked out shortly. Also, the series is likely to be sandwiched during the Christmas break in England's tour of India. The planned series is, however, subject to government approval. A member of the BCCI fixtures committee said after the meeting that the Indo-Pak cricket series is likely to be held in metropolitan cities only keeping the security aspect in view. India and Pakistan last played in a bilateral series in November, 2007 which India clinched3-2. The resumption of cricketing ties got a boost after the assertion by foreign secretaries of both the countries to strengthen sporting relations. Also, there have been several attempts by the Pakistan Cricket Board in recent months to convince the BCCI.
