The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, BBMP has ordered a death audit in 19 hospitals which have reported high mortality rate of COVID positive patients. The city Corporation Commissioner N. Manjunath Prasad informed media persons today that out of 24,368 patients admitted in these 19 hospitals, 1,598 had died.&nbsp;<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The audit is done to ascertain reasons for these deaths. He added that early tracking, testing and treatment has arrested the spread of the pandemic in Bengaluru. He also informed them that they are planning to close down a few of 12 COVID Care Centres meant for asymptomatic patients. The reason for closure, he said, was due to the desire of asymptomatic patients to opt for home isolation.</span><br />
