BBC cameras capture rare glimpse of mountain tigers

A new television footage shot by BBC has revealed tigers living more than 4000 metres high in the Himalayas. Experts say, this is first real evidence that tigers, normally found in jungle habitats, can live and breed at such altitudes. A BBC expedition team, filming in the remote Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan, positioned dozens of hidden cameras on possible tiger trails. When wildlife cameraman Golden Becanon returned to review the footage three months later he was astonished. Caught on camera in the snow was a breeding pair. Experts believe it could improve their chances of creating what they called a conservation corridor linking tiger populations across Asia.
