Batting brilliance boosts Bangladesh in Dhaka Test

Bangladesh were bowled out for 419 runs in their first innings against England in the second test being played at Dhaka. Resuming at their overnight score of 330 for eight, the hosts managed to reach their third highest test total at the Sher -E Bangla cricket stadium, thanks to a sensible ninth wicket partnership of 74 runs between Naeem Islam and Shafiul Islam. Both Naeem and Shafiul struck their maiden half-centuries in test cricket. While Naeem remained unbeaten on 59, Shaiful scored a quickfire 53 with 44 runs coming from boundaries. Graeme Swann was the pick of the English bowlers taking four wickets in the first innings. England began batting in their first innings 25 minutes before lunch on the second day of the Dhaka test and are hoping to win the test to complete a clean sweep of the two test series. England have already won the first test which was played at Chittagong last week.
