Bareilly Divisional Commissioner transferred, Maulana released

Uttar Pradesh government has transferred the Divisional Commissioner of Bareilly following continuous communal unrest in the city for last one week. <br/><br/>The district magistrate and district police Chief have already been replaced following their alleged failure to restore normalcy in Bareilly city. <br/><br/>Partoling has been intensified in all four curfew hit police station areas of Baradari, Quila, Premnagar and Kotwali in the town with deployment of 5 extra companies of Provincial Armed Constabulary. <br/><br/>AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that educational institutions remained closed. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, Bareilly District Administration has released prominent Sunni cleric Maulana Tauquir Raza Khan. He was detained on Monday last for making inflammatory speeches and provoking people.
