Barack Obama has taken oath of office in Washington DC to inaugurate his second term as US President, before hundreds of thousands of spectators. Mr Obama, the 44th President of the US, was sworn in by Chief Justice John Roberts.
In his inaugural address after being sworn in for a second innings Obama laid out his vision for the next four years .In a roughly 18-minute, 2,100-word speech, Mr Obama called for collective action to preserve American freedom, which he linked to social and economic equality.
He said that America will remain the anchor of strong alliances in every corner of the globe and support democracy from Asia to Africa.
However, there was no mention of any specific country,neither there was any mention of the war in Afghanistan which
is coming to an end by 2014 or that of the first against terrorism including the defeat of Al-Qaeda in his speech .
