Railway minister Pawan Kumar Bansal today ruled out any immediate Rail freight rate hike in view of the recent hike in diesel prices. Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi, Mr Bansal however said there is a need to take tough decisions in the future to manage the diesel price hike. Earlier, addressing a seminar, Mr Bansal said public private partnership is necessary to change the nature of transportation in which the goods should be transported. He said, though the volume of the goods transported by Railways is increasing the percentage of share in transportation has come down which needs to be addressed immediately.
