Railways Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal today hinted at hike in railway fares. He said without fare hike, it would be difficult to run railways.
Bansal told reporters in Rae Bareli that hiking fare is not the target.The target is to ensure safe journey and good services to passengers.
On the question of fare hike implementation, the Minister said nothing could be said at this point of time and any decision would be taken only after discussions.
Earlier, the Railway Minister had hinited at a fare hike on October 28th, on the day assumed charge of Railway Ministry.
