Bank Unions threatens to go for 1 day strike from tomorrow

The bank unions have threatened to go for a one-day strike tomorrow to protest on various issues including outsourcing of permanent jobs and compensation for employees for extra work done after demonetisation move was announced in November last year. <br/><br/>In a statement, General Secretary of All India Bank Employees' Association, C H Venkatachalam said, about 10 lakh employees and officers in all public sector banks including SBI, Regional Rural Banks and Co-operative banks will take part in the strike. <br/><br/>He said, bank managements represented by the Indian Bank Associations did not agree to demands put forward by the nine unions. <br/><br/>Mr Venkatachalam said, government should reimburse cost of demonetisation to banks, settle employee's pending issues and recover bad loans and take criminal action against willful defaulters.
