Chennai City Police Commissioner Mr J.K.Tripathy today said the five-member gang killed by the police in an encounter early this morning, where involved in two recent bank robberies in outskirts of the city. Speaking to newsmen in chennai, he said 14 lakh rupees in cash besides 5 revolvers and two pistols were seized from the house where the gang resided. Mr Tripathy said of the five killed, four were from Bihar and one from West Bengal. Replying to a question, the commissioner said that an FIR has been lodged and the incident will be enquired by a judicial magistrate.
