Bank debts & assets in current fiscal year rise in WB

Bank debts and assets in the current fiscal year are rising in West Bengal. The governor of the Reserve Bank of India, Mr. D.Subba Rao told reporters in Kolkata, that the ratio of bank loans is to increase from 62 to 65 percent. He was talking to newspersons after a meeting with the governing body of the bank.Mr. Subba Rao said that, in West Bengal, the rate of bank loans is less because of the less demand of loan in the industrial sector. He admitted that, the amount of loans given to self-help groups in the state is less than what is given in other states. He said, that, the loan given to the state will be increased by 1crore 20lakh in the next financial year. Mr. Subba Rao also said that, more farmers will be brought under the Kishan Card regime in West Bengal. For this, he said, surveys will be conducted in four districts of the state.
