Mobile financial services provider in Bangladesh Nagad has become a billion-dollar company within three years of its operations. Highlighting the growing digitisation of the financial services in Bangladesh, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak has said that at least three other billion-dollar startups will emerge in Bangladesh by 2025. He pointed out that it took almost 40 years for Bangladesh's major industrial group Beximco to become a billion-dollar company while another mobile financial services provider bKash achieved this feat in 12 years.<br />''  <br />'' Nagad mobile financial services company is a public sector enterprise under the Bangladesh Postal Department. It was established in March 2019. The company came up with many innovative practices like the provision of electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) system through which customers can upload their National ID (NID) card and photo to complete the KYC requirements with Nagad.<br />''  <br />'' At present, Nagad has over 7.5 crore customers with daily transactions of over 1200 crore Taka. It has received many awards for its innovative use of digital technology.
