Bangladeshi pirates kill four Indian fishermen

Four Indian fishermen were killed and eight injured in an attack by two groups of Bangladeshi pirates last night in the Bay of Bengal.

They also hijacked a trawler carrying twelve fishermen. Eight pirates have been captured by the fishermen.

Sub Divisional Officer, Kakdwip, West Bengal, Rahul Majumdar said that a group of pirates fired at the fishermen traveling in a trawler at Kendua in the bay resulting in four of them being killed.

Another group of pirates hijacked another trawler carrying twelve fishermen and sailed away towards the Bangladeshi waters.

A group of Indian fishermen who were nearby in the waters in the Bay of Bengal confronted the pirates and managed to catch eight of them.
