<span style="color: #222222;">COVID-19 situation in Bangladesh continued its upward trend as the highest number of COVID-19 deaths and new infections were reported in the last 24 hours on Tuesday ever since the first Corona positive case was detected on March 8 last year. According to the latest figures released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday afternoon, 66 people died and 7213 people were found to be Corona positive in the country over the last 24 hours. The death toll due to Corona has gone up to 9384 and the total number of people infected by Coronavirus now stands at 6.51 lakh.<br />'' <br />'' Tuesday was the third consecutive day when over 7000 Corona positive cases were reported in a single day. The positivity rate among the samples collected for testing stood at 21.02 per cent while the recovery rate was reported at 85.69 per cent.<br />'' <br />'' On the second day of the weeklong nationwide lockdown, the government announced a partial roll back of the suspension of public transport in the country. The government has announced that public transport services will resume operation in Dhaka and other city corporation areas from 6 in the morning to 6 in the evening. They are allowed to carry only 50 per cent of their capacity in view of the Corona pandemic.
