Bangladesh marked the return to international cricket after10 months with an easy victory over West Indies at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka on Wednesday. It defeated West Indies by six wickets in the first ODI of the three match series.
After winning the toss, Bangladesh Captain, Tamim put West Indies to bat. West Indies were bowled out for 122 in 32.2 overs. Bangladesh bettered the West Indies score in 33.5 overs losing 4 wickets.
ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal started his captaincy with a top score of 44 off 69 balls.
All rounder Shakib Al Hasan gave a brilliant performance with his bowling taking 4 wickets giving just 8 runs in 7.2 overs. He was declared the Man of the match.
The new entrant Hasan Mahmud claimed 3 wickets in his debut match. Mustafizur Rahman claimed 2 wickets giving away 20 runs to bowl out West Indies at 122 in 32.2 overs.
Akeal was the best wicket taker from West Indies side claiming 3 wickets of Bangladesh off 10 overs conceding 26 runs.
In the West Indies side, Mayers was the top scorer with 56 runs. Jason scored 36 runs.
