In Bangladesh, 2 policemen and a college student were killed and 31 others injured this evening in 2 separate bomb blasts outside a suspected militant den in Shibbari area of Sylhet city in northern part of the country. Golam Kibria, Commissioner of Sylhet Police, told reporters that 5 of the injured are law enforcers. <br/><br/>One blast ocurred on the road in the vicinity of a five-storey building where para-military cammandos were conducting the anti-militant operation. The second blast occured just outside the militant den and left one policeman dead and five other policemen injured. <br/><br/>After the bomb explosions police have asked all civilians to leave the spot for safety. Police have also evacuated the residents of the building under seige where militants with huge explosives are believed to be holed in. <br/><br/>Gunshots and explosions were heard from inside the building since afternoon when the para-military commandos with armoured vehicles broke into the building. Police had condoned off the building early Friday repeatedly asking the militants to surrender.

Two police personnel and a journalist were among the injured. <br/><br/>Golam Kibria, Police Commissioner of Sylhet told reporters that the blast occurred this evening in the vicinity of the five-storey building where the para-military cammandos along with police were conducting the anti-militant operation. <br/><br/>Gunshots and explosions were heard as commandos with armoured vehicles entered the building where the suspected militants were believed to be holed in with huge cache of weapons.
