Bangladesh: Tourist places, recreation centres to open from August 19

<span style="color: #222222;">Going ahead with easing of the COVID 19 restrictions in the country, the government of Bangladesh has announced that all public transport including railways, roadways and waterways will become fully operational from August 19. Earlier, in its circular on August 10, it was decided that only half of the registered  buses will operate on any particular day. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Furthermore, the government has also allowed the community centres, tourist places and recreation venues to be functional at half of their capacity from August 19.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Government of Bangladesh lifted most of the COVID 19 restrictions from Wednesday, August 11. Shops and malls, offices and public transport became operational from Wednesday. Factories were already operational during the lockdown period. However, no announcement has been made about the educational institutions which have remained closed since March last year.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Bangladesh has administered more than 20 million doses of the COVID 19 vaccine till Tuesday, 10 August. Over 15 million people have received the first dose of the vaccine while more than 5 million people received both the doses. It also received a fresh consignment of 1.7 million doses of the Chinese Sinovac vaccine on Tuesday.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, 215 people died and 10,126 new corona positive cases were detected in Bangladesh on Wednesday. The death toll has gone up to 23613. The number of active cases has declined to over 1.11 lakh. The sample positivity rate also continued to decline. On Wednesday, the positivity rate stood at 22.46 percent from a peak of 32.55 percent on July 24.</span><br />
