The Bangladesh Supreme Court has upheld the high court verdict sentencing twelve persons to death for killing Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members on<br/>August 15th 1975. Delivering the landmark verdict on Thursday this week, the appellate bench headed by Justice Mohammed Tofazzal Islam rejected the appeals of the five convicts Syed Faruk Rahman, Mohiuddin Ahmed, Bazlul Huda, AKM Mohiuddin Ahmed and Sultan Shahriar Rashid Khan who are presently in prison. The others sentenced to death include former Lt Col Abdur Rashid, Lt Col Shariful Haq Dalim, Lt Col Noor, Risalder Moslemuddin, Lt Col Rashed Chowdhury and Capt Majed who are presently absconding in other countries. The Bangladesh government hopes to bring them back with the help of Interpol.<br/>
