Bangladesh reports 2nd highest single day COVID cases, Positivity rate

<span style="color: black;">Bangladesh reported 8483 fresh coronavirus infections and 132 deaths on Friday even as the country entered into the second day of the strict lockdown on Friday. The second highest number of new corona cases reported in a day since the first case was detected in March last year. The highest number of infections was reported on 30 June when 8822 people were found to be corona positive in a day. <br />''<br />''The sample positivity rate also rose to 28.27 percent on Friday which is the second highest level since August 3 last year when it reached 32 percent. Meanwhile, the second day of the countrywide strict lockdown was successful in keeping the level of vehicles on the roads of Dhaka low. Due to continuous rain since morning and the lockdown, the roads in Dhaka saw very little movement of vehicles and people on Friday.<br />'' <br />''Police and armed forces kept a strict vigil on the busy intersections and roads to enforce the lockdown. Other cities and towns of Bangladesh also reported a mostly successful lockdown. The local administration aided by the army and police implemented the lockdown in their jurisdiction strictly.</span><br />
