The Commerce ministry of Bangladesh has decided to repeal its decision to lift the ban on importing films from India and other South Asian counties. <br/><br/>The ban has been reimposed following protests by groups involved in the local film industry. Commerce Minister Faruk Khan told reporters on the sidelines of a programme in Dhaka on Monday that his ministry had recently decided to allow import of Indian films, but now we will revert to the previous policy. <br/><br/>He said the government would not like to do anything that will harm the local film industry. The government’s decision came after protests by several federations associated with Bangladesh film industry under the banner of Bangladesh Chalachchitra Oikya Parishad. <br/><br/>Following this decision, the ban on import of Indian and films from other South Asian Countries which has been in place for several decades in Bangladesh will continue.<br/>
