Bangladesh records zero daily COVID deaths in over 20 months

<span style="color: #222222;">Bangladesh recorded zero COVID 19 deaths on Saturday. It is the first time since April last year that the country has reported zero covid deaths after the corona pandemic outbreak in March 2020.<br />'' <br />'' According to the latest figures released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday, 178 new cases of COVID 19 were reported in the country with the sample positivity rate being 1.18 percent. The total number of people dying due to COVID 19 in Bangladesh stands at 27946. The number of active cases in the country is 7937 and the recovery rate was recorded at 97.7 percent.<br />''<br />''Meanwhile, Health Minister Zahid Maleque said that the government will be able to administer 15 crore doses of the COVID 19 vaccine by January next year. Till Thursday,  5.35 crore people had received the first dose of the COVID 19 vaccine while 3.42 crore received both doses of the vaccination in Bangladesh.</span>
