The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has instructed its forces to provide ramped up security to Hindu temples in Dhaka in the wake of communal attacks on minority Hindu community places of worship in several parts of the country.<br />''<br />''DMP Commissioner Md. Shafiqul Alam told media in Dhaka on Monday that the police have to be more active and vigilant to prevent such incidents. The police has increased its presence at prominent puja venues in the city to ensure security. The cyber crime unit has also been instructed to keep an eye on inflammatory posts on social media.<br />''<br />''Bangladesh police have registered cases against close to 24,000 people in 16 districts of Bangladesh for incidents of attack on Hindu temples and houses following the incident of the desecration of the Holy Quran at Cumilla on October 13.<br />''<br />''The list of accused from Cumilla, Chandpur, Noakhali, Rangpur, Chattogram, Feni and other places includes leaders and activists of the opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Jamaat-e-Islami as well as Chhatra League among others, reports UNI Bangladesh.
