Bangladesh police detained 20 members of the fundamentalist opposition party Jamaat-E Islami on Thursday for allegedly being involved in a plot to disrupt law and order in the country. According to police officials the group was arrested following a raid in a house in Mirpuron the outskirts of Dhaka . The police team also claimed to have recovered six bombs and a huge quantity of bomb making materials in addition to a large number of Jihad books.The officials claimed that the group was holding a secret meeting to discuss plans to destabilize the country in protest against the arrest of top Jamaat-E -Islami leaders including its chief Matiur Rahman Nizami who are currently facing trial on charges of war crimes and other cases.
