Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will leave tonight for a three nation tour to Russia Belgium and Japan. During her stay in Russia, she will attend the conference of the International Forum for Tiger Conservation being hosted by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg from November 21st.Sheikh Hasina is also scheduled to hold talks with the Russian Prime Minister on the sidelines of the Tiger conference which is likely to be focused on co-operation between Dhaka and Moscow to build Bangladesh’s first Nuclear power plant at Roopur.Sheikh Hasina will then leave for Belgium where she will meet the Belgian Prime Minister Yves Leteme and also hold discussions with the President of European Union Council Herman Van Rompuy and President of European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso in Brussels.The talks with the European leaders will mainly focus on trade and investment and EU support to Bangladesh for climate change mitigation. The last stop of the Bangladesh Prime Minister will be Japan.During her four-day official visit to the country, Sheikh Hasina will hold talks with Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan and also have a meeting with Japan Emperor Akihito.Bangladesh and Japan are like to sign agreements on economic cooperation during this visit and Bangladesh hopes to get an assurance from the Japan government for funding the multimillion dollar Padma Bridge project.
