Calling India a trusted friend of Bangladesh, Minister for Science and Technology of Bangladesh Mr Yeafesh Oman today said that in the age of knowledge economy, time has come that the two countries stand together to show the power of knowledge.<br/><br/>A Bangladesh delegation led by Mr Yeafesh Oman was in Panaji at National Institute of Oceanography. He visited in connection with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between CSIR's National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) and the Dhaka University during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bangladesh few months back.<br/><br/>In a first of its kind, India will conduct a joint marine research with Bangladesh in its Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) to understand the ecology of the Bay of Bengal that affects the climatic conditions of the region.<br/><br/>A team of 20 scientists from the Goa based CSIR's National Institute of Oceanography will head to the Bay of Bengal in October-November this year along with its Research Vessel (RV) Sindhu Sadhana. From Bangladesh side 11 scientists will take part in this important research.<br/><br/>SWA Naqvi, the Director of NIO, said that for all these years, we did not get the opportunity to conduct research in the EEZ of Bangladesh, which we have got now.
