Bangladesh lifts 6 month ban on Shakib al Hasan

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has reduced the six-month ban on ace all-rounder Shakib al Hasan, and announced that the ban will be lifted on September 15th. However the embargo on overseas competition till end of 2015 remains. The decision was taken at a meeting of the BCB held in Mirpur yesterday, where Shakib's request to reconsider the punishment meted out to him was considered. With the lifting of the ban, the cricketer will now be available for selection in the Asian Games in September, as well as the home series against Zimbabwe scheduled to start in October, 2014. On July 7th,Shakib was suspended by BCB from all competitions for 6 months and forbidden from playing overseas till 2015 end due to 'severe attitude problem'. The ace cricketer had clashed with the Bangladesh new coach and got into an altercation with a spectator during ODI against India in Mirpur.
