Bangladesh: Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre celebrates foundation Day

<span style="color: #222222;">The High Commission of India celebrated the 12th foundation day of Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) in Dhaka on Friday. High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Vikram Doraiswami inaugurated the event with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of the cultural centre to foster and strengthen cultural exchanges between India and Bangladesh and promote people to people connections.<br />''<br />''During the event, IGCC students and teachers gave cultural performances of dance and music. They paid tribute to three great icons of Indian music Lata Mangeshkar, Gitashree Sandhya Mukhopadhyay and Bappi Lahiri who passed away last month. The Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre at Dhanmondi in Dhaka was inaugurated in 2010 by the then President of the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (IGCC) Dr Karan Singh. The centre has been organising cultural programmes, seminars, workshops, classes for Yoga training classes, Hindi learning, Indian classical music and dances regularly to promote cultural ties between the two countries.</span><br />
