Bangladesh: Indian High Commission pays tribute to Liberation War Fighter (Retd.) Group Capt. Shamsul Alam

Indian High Commission in Dhaka paid tribute to Group Captain (retd.) Shamsul Alam who passed away in Dhaka on Thursday at the age of 74. A wreath from the Indian High Commission was placed as a mark of respect and remembrance for the brave fighter of the liberation war who distinguished himself as a member of the 'kilo fight', the combat aviation formation of the Bangladesh Liberation War fighting force named 'Mukti Bahini'. <br />'' <br />'' Paying respect to the legendary freedom fighter, decorated with the second highest award 'Bir Uttam' for individual gallantry during the liberation war, the wreath placed on behalf of the Indian High Commission read 'Forever Missed, But will never be Forgotten'. <br />'' <br />''The High Commission of India in Bangladesh in a social media post said that Bir Uttam Shamsul Alam was among the numerous Muktijoddhas whose sacrifices, along with those of Indian soldiers who fought along with them during the Liberation War of 1971, continue to inspire and reinforce the close bonds of friendship and solidarity between India and Bangladesh.
