The event was attended by distinguished guests from all walks of life in Bangladesh including the government, legislature, political parties, armed forces, civil society, business, academia, media and culture.<br />''<br />''Welcoming the distinguished invitees, High Commissioner Pranay Verma highlighted the significance of Iftar in promoting the spirit of humanity and brotherhood. Both countries have common cultural, historical and social backgrounds. <br />''<br />''Acknowledging the contribution of India in the liberation war of Bangladesh, Minister Faridul Haq said that the foundation of the bilateral relationship between the two countries was laid by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
