In Assam, security has been placed on high alert in view of arrest of the Chairman of the anti-talk faction of National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) Ranjan Daimary alias D R Nabla from Dawki in Meghalaya along Indo-Bangla border. A strict vigil is being maintained in the NDFB infested areas of Bodoland Territorial Council districts. Daimary, who was hiding in Bangladesh, was handed over to BSF by the Bangladesh Rifles in the wee-hours yesterday. He was later handed over to Assam Police. Although the Assam Police is tight lipped on the arrest of the militant leader, it is reported that the militant leader was kept in a high-security protected area at Kahilipara in Guwahati for questioning. The militant leader is the prime accused in the 3oth October 2008 serial bomb explosion in Assam where more than 90 people died and over five hundred wounded.
