In Bangladesh, the fifth and final round of Upzila elections concluded yesterday. The first phase of voting for Upzilas was held in March. Voting was held for 23 upzilas on Tuesday. <br />''<br />''Out of 489 Upzilas, a  total of 486 upazilas went for polls over four rounds of voting earlier while in 3 Upazillas candidates were elected unopposed.<br />''<br />''A low turnout with some incidents of violence was reported from various places during the polls. Election Commission Secretary Md Alamgir told reporters in Dhaka that barring a few incidents, the last phase of upazila elections were fair and peaceful.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its allies, left parties and Islamist parties boycotted the polls protesting against alleged fraud during the 2018 general elections in the country. It is the first time that candidates for the Upazila elections are contesting on party symbol.</span><br />
