In Bangladesh, the death toll in Wednesday's launch capsize in the Sandhya river has risen to 24. Toll rose as ten more bodies were recovered and 1 survivor died in the hospital last night. Rescuers managed to pull up the sunken launch and the Additional District Magistrate has declared the rescue operation closed. The unregistered launch carrying 60 passengers sunk at Dasherhaat point on Wednesday whilst plying on the Banaripari-Swarupkathi route. <br/><br/>Locals and fire service personnel had launched an immediate rescue operation fishing out 13 bodies. The Nine-member probe committee formed after the incident is looking into the local people's complaints that a number of launches which are not registered as passenger-carrying vessels are plying on the route.
