<span style="color: black;">The COVID 19 situation in Bangladesh continued to show improvement with fall in daily death and sample positivity rate. The country recorded 52 deaths on Wednesday which is the lowest since June 15 when 50 deaths were recorded in a single day. The sample positivity rate was reported to be 9.07 percent which is the fifth consecutive day of below 10 percent positivity in the country.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">While the death toll due to COVID pandemic stands now at 26,736, the recovery rate has gone up to over 96 percent. The number of active cases has shown a consistent decline since July 29 when it went up to over 1.55 lakh people. The number of active cases on Wednesday, September 8, was recorded to be 30972.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">The vaccination driver for the second dose is continuing in Bangladesh. As per the latest figures released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 19.84 million people had received the first dose of the vaccine and 11.75 million people received both the doses of the vaccine till Tuesday.</span><br />'' &nbsp;
