Bangladesh bowed out of World Cup

Co-hosts Bangladesh have bowed out of the on-going ICC Cricket World Cup tournament. In their final Group 'B' match in Dhaka today, they lost to formidable South Africa by 206-runs. Chasing a victory target of 285, the co-hosts were bowled out for a paltry 78 in 28 overs. It was their second score of less than 100 in the mega event, after they were dismissed for 58 against West Indies in an earlier group league game. Bangladesh lost the race for the quarter-finals with the second worst net run-rate among the seven teams. Earlier, electing to bat, the Proteas made 284 for eight in 50 overs.South Africa finished their league fixtures with 10 points.In the Day-Night Group 'A' match in Colombo, Australia were 144 for Six in 38 overs against Pakistan , a short while ago.
