The Bangladesh Women's Cricket team has earned One Day international status by defeating the United States team in the play-off match of the ICC Women's World Cup Qualifier tournament in Dhaka. The hosts defeated the United States team by nine wickets in the Fifth place play-off match on Thursday at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan Ground at Savar on the outskirts of Dhaka.Batting first the American team could only manage to score seventy eight runs in 47.3 overs before being bowled out by the Hosts. Bangladesh then managed to reach the target in 18.5 overs losing just one wicket. The victory comes as a big consolation for the Bangladesh Woman's team helping them earn ODI status after the team had failed to qualify for the final edition of ICC World Cup 2013.The Bangladesh cricket board has been hosting the ICC World Cup Women's Qualifier tournament and West Indies, South Africa, Srilanka and Pakistan have qualified for the Final tournament to be played in India. The semi final matches of the ICC Women's World Cup Qualifier tournament between Sri lanka and West Indies and South Africa and Pakistan is currently in progress in Dhaka with the finals scheduled to be played on Saturday.
