In Bangladesh, authorities are evacuating people from all coastal upzillas of southern Chittagong district as cyclone Mora is bearing down on the shore. The cyclone is expected to make landfall late Monday or early Tuesday on the Chittagong-Cox's Bazar coast. <br/><br/>Chittagong port has been shut down and all ferry and launch services across the country have been suspended. <br/><br/>Disaster Management Department Director Abu Syed Mohammad Hashim told reporters that a total of 479 cyclone shelters capable of accomodating over 4 lakh people have been made ready with necessary food supplies. <br/><br/>Besides medical and rescue teams have been formed in every upazilla to handle emergency issues. Control rooms have also been set up in every upazilla. <br/><br/>Meanwhile authorities have been making announcements on loudspeakers since noon asking people to move to the safety of cyclone shelters. Over 50,000 volunteers are also on standby to assist authorities in emergencies.
