Resuming on the overnight score of 356 for 3, the duo of skipper Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane took India to 456 when Rahane got out on 82. India declared their innings at 687 for 6. The day belonged to Kohli who scored his fourth double century and became the only player to score a double ton in as many consecutive series.
