Bangalore blast case accused Madani's anticipatory bail hearing on June 29

A fast track court in Bamgalore today posted to the 29th of this month the hearing on the anticipatory bail plea by one of the accused in the 2008 Bangalore blast case and PDP leader Abdul Naseer Madani.

The prosecution opposed the bail plea, stating it could hinder investigation.

Madani has been chargesheeted along with 31 others for his alleged involvement in the blasts on July 25, 2008, in various parts of the city that left a woman dead and 20 injured.

He was among the six persons named in the additional chargesheet filed by the Bangalore Police on June 11. Police had earlier chargesheeted 26 people.

Bangalore police have maintained that it has enough evidence to name Madani as an accused in the case. Twelve of the 32 people chargesheeted are absconding.

A local court had last week issued non bailable warrants against Madani and asked him to be produced on or before June 23.

Madani had spent nine years in prison before he was let off in connection with the Coimbatore blast case.
