Bandh to protest Rojoana's execution disrupts normal life in Punjab

In Punjab, a day long Bandh called by various organisations against the execution of Babbar Khalsa militant, Balwant Singh Rajoana, is peaceful amidst tight security arrangements but has disrupted normal life in parts of the state. Punjab Police and Para-military personnels have been deployed to deal with any eventuality.Rajoana has been convicted in the Punjab’s former Chief Minister, Beant Singh’s assassination case. The court has ordered his execution on March 31. Business establishments, markets, schools and colleges are closed. Govt. and private buses are plying in less number but rail traffic is normal in most parts of the state.
