The Bharat Bandh to protest against the fuel price hike has a partial impact in the national capital. While the public transport is thin, the protestors attempted to block traffic at Laxmi Nagar, ITO, Preet Vihar, Akashardham, Badarpur and Madhuban Chowk areas.<br/><br/> Agitated protestors also tried to stop the train services at many places which led to its disruption. Security has been deployed to ensure smooth run of the Metro trains. <br/><br/>The Bandh call has been given by the BJP led NDA and Left parties. A senior Delhi Police officer said that adequate security measures are in place to ensure law and order during the protest. AIR correspondent after visiting several areas of the Metro reports that Bandh supporters have put in blockades at several places but the shops in many areas are partially open. <br/><br/>Several BJP and Left workers courted arrest in support of the Bandh. Senior BJP leaders are addressing a protest rally in the Old city later this afternoon. The government has termed the Bandh call as unjustified. <br/><br/>Petroleum Minister Mr. Murli Deora said this is nothing more than misleading the people as these parties have been instrumental in notifying the deregulation of fuel prices. The Finance Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee has ruled out roll back in fuel prices.
