In Manipur, normal life has been affected in the four hill districts of Senapati, Tamenglong, Ukhrul and Chandel due to the 48-hour bandh called by the All Tribal Students’ Union from Sunday midnight. Educational Institutions, business establishments including shops and markets remained close during the bandh in the hill districts. Inter-state and inter-district passenger bus services also remained off the road. However, there is no report of any untoward incident so far.The bandh was called by the student body in association with many students’ organizations of the hill areas of the state, pressing its demand to issue Teachers Eligibility Test, TET forms at hill districts' headquarters. The student bodies are also demanding that examination centres of the TET be set up at the hill districts' headquarters.
