Bandh effective in Gujarat, major markets, school colleges remains close

In Gujarat, all major markets and school colleges remained close today. Gujarat University and Technological University have postponed its examinations. Public Transport system is also affected badly in all the major cities. <br/><br/>The traders and shopkeepers have also joined in the bandh- as markets in Ahmedabad city have wore deserted look. Textile market in Surat has also observed bandh. There are reports of successful bandh at Vadodara, Rajkot and Ahmedabad. However, the situation is peaceful and no untoward incident reported from any part of the state.<br/><br/>Normal in life in Kerala is badly hit. Private vehicles and state run buses are off the road, while offices reported thin attendance. Shops and business establishments remained closed. Train services were not affected due to the bandh. Many passengers were left stranded at the railway stations and airports due to lack of transport facilities.<br/><br/>In Assam, normal life is paralysed. AIR correspondent quoting official sources reports as many as 47 trains have been affected in the State. Some of them are being diverted or re-scheduled from Guwahati.
