Bandh disrupts normal life in Jharkhand

The protest against the ongoing anti-encroachment drive by Jharkhand Government is growing. About one lakh people in the State have been displaced by the anti-encroachment drive that is being carried out under the supervision of Ranchi High Court. The bandh called by the Naxals against the ongoing anti-encroachment drive has affected normal life in rural and remote areas of the state. The loading of minerals as well long distance bus services are also affected. Displaced people have blocked the main areas in the Central Government PSU Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) and the state Secretariat. Seeing the sensitivities of the issue, Arjun Munda Government has said that apart from releasing one crore rupees for urgent relief works of the affected people, it would announce a new rehabilitation policy by 28th of this month.
